#definition Prep refers to making modifications to products before they can be sent somewhere. It might include things like bubblewrapping, bagging, kitting, bundling, etc. In many cases, the modifications to the product are to comply with the policies of a retail outlet or store. In other cases, it is essentially producing a new product by combining several things together.

Prep is closely related to the concepts of crossdocking and light manufacturing.
